Botox has been around for a long time. First used for eye muscle treatment for lazy eye it has spread to cosmetic uses in the face and other parts of the body. As an cosmetic surgery specialist a large part of my practice are Botox and Fillers. Many patient come in to my office in Denver asking “What are the most common areas for botox in the face?”
The overall most common area that patients get botox is to treat the 11’s or two vertical lines between the corrugator muscles between the eyebrows. Usually 15-20 units can treat this area.
The second most common area to get botox is the forehead. The forehead lines should be carefully treated as they can drop the eyebrows if you are not careful.
Coming in the third are the crow’s feet which are fine horizontal lines in the corners of the eye. The crows feet botox treatment is simple and can also reduce the chance of the lines showing up in the first place.
The three other areas are administered by expert botox injectors which are the bunny lines, corners of the mouth and neckline.
Bunny lines – The horizontal lines on the nose can be treated by botox by treating the muscles near the nose that cause them
Corner’s of the mouth - By paralyzing the muscles that pull the corner’s of the mouth down with botox, it can create an upturn in the corner’s of the mouth reducing the frown that patients may have
Neckline – Using a neferteri lift to paralyze the neck muscles and even the muscles that cause banding of the neck, botox is an effective treatment for neck bands in my Denver patients
The basics of botox are that it takes 7-9 days to kick in and lasts for about 3 months. Some patients have a longer effect and others shorter. Botox has been tested and found it be extremely safe in patients for cosmetic use. As a botox provider in Denver, it is common to have patients who are treated from anywhere from 20 to 60 units per treatment session depending on the effect that they are interested in achieving.
