Finding the Best Eyelid Surgeon in Denver

Updated: Jul 29, 2019

One of the things that patients often want to know is "How do I find the best eyelid surgeon for my eyelid surgery in Denver?". This can be difficult to sort out. That being said there are a number of things that identify the best eyelid surgeon for you.

1. Choose an Eyelid Specialist

Oculoplastic Surgeons are plastic surgery specialists of the eyelid. That is all we do. Imagine designing a house and wanting someone to build your pool. Would you want a pool builder or try to get the guy who does the drywall and the tile to try his hand at it. Eyelid specialists specialize in blepharoplasty. As an oculoplastic surgeon I have performed literally 1000s of eyelid surgery. That doesn't mean that it guarantees perfection but as one can imagine a specialist gives you the best chance of a great outcome

2. Find someone who performs a lot of surgery

There are oculoplastic surgeons who are part-time and not available all the the time. There are others who perform 1000s of surgeries. Like free throws, it makes sense to get someone who is performing eyelid surgery all the time to perform your surgery. Also, find someone who is working full time. You wouldn't want a problem with your eyelid after surgery and your surgeon is not available. I have performed 1000s of eyelid surgeries and can tell you that the more you do, the better you get at it. I have seen complications from many plastic surgeons in denver concerning blepharoplasty and I can tell you those who perform it infrequently are at higher risk of problems.

3. Talk to the surgeon yourself during a consultation and see if he/she is the right fit for you

Communication is the critical element for a good experience with an eyelid surgeon performing blepharoplasty. Find a doctor who is willing to take the time to answer your questions and make you feel comfortable. That determines who is the best person for cosmetic eyelid surgery in Denver for you which may be different than your neighbor or cousin. Not everyone will like everyone...and that is ok.

4. Don't be "handled" or "gamed"

Some surgeons have "plastic surgery handlers" who attempt to manipulate patients into surgery or "upsell them" to other procedures. This is not the scheduler but the "plastic surgery coordinator or consultant". Like the car salesman their goal is to "close the deal" or "make sure the patient signs up". These practices are probably not putting patient interests first and should be really regarded cautiously. Any high pressure sales pitch is a massive red flag.

Hopefully this gives you a good handle on finding the best eyelid surgeon in Denver. If you are interested in a consultation, call my office to meet me to see if we are a good fit. All the best.
